About Kiteboarding 4 Kids

Kiteboarding for Kids is a fundraising competition to benefit kids in Dominican Republic. The event is open to Men, Women, and Juniors. Our beneficiary organizations include the DREAM Project, Kids Alive, and Dominican Crossroads.

Through the fundraising efforts of participating kiteboarders, we want to send a loving message to them and impact their lives positively. We hope to combine the natural attributes of Cabarete, enthusiastic support of local shops, generous donations from individuals and manufacturers, the fun loving nature of kiteboarders into a unique event that will create memories and support the local charities.

Organizers

Inspired by a charity event Kiteboarding 4 Cancer in Hood River last year, top fundraiser Kee Park set off the idea of creating a fundraising event for the children on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic and joined forces with Cabarete kiteboarder Laurel Eastman and organizer Eva Knof.

Laurel Eastman, a champion kiteboarder, kiteschool owner and a long time Cabarete resident commented on the importance of this event: "As Kite boarders, Cabarete gives us so much in terms of fantastic wind, friendly faces and warm safe waters - this is our chance to give back. By helping to make sure the children of the North Coast are healthy, educated, and loved, we can ensure a great future for the communities here.”
