Saturday 21- Big Air/Best Trick Adults Category
Who could have asked for better wind conditions? Saturday’s event had perfect summer winds! The day’s events were set for the Big Air/Best Trick for the Open Men and Women’s Category. Bozo beach was jamming to the music, and the 1pm mandatory Skipper’s meeting was called to order. Local registrants continued trickling in up until minutes before the competition with a total of 67 riders. The Women’s Category went first and the Gromley duo assisted Eastman with the microphone. Special Big Air/Big Hair appearance made by our very own LEK, Laurel Eastman and event organizer team member Jill Cervi! The women jumped high and jumped big! There were two mother and daughter combinations competing. Karen and Samantha Ciotti, Cabarete residents and Shane Gromley and Carol Bolsted from Portland! What a show by all the women who competed! Shane Gromley, Audrey Meyer, Mika Taymeda, and Debbie W. flaunted their stuff, and their stuff was good! Great job ladies! Just when it couldn’t get anymore exciting, the KB4K men riders lined the beach and were given the signal to GO! Old School jumps, board twirls, no hands, and back handle passes graced the Cabarete sky! Could these kiters go any higher? Spectators were definitely “WOWED” and many commented that KB4K Fundraising Competition was the best competition they have ever seen! With perfect wind conditions, these riders popped into the sky and not only did Big Air but cool tricks. If you didn’t come out this year, come on out next year to see a repeat performance of excellence in Kiteboarding!
